I came from a 80s Fun Run Walk T Shirt family in Malacca, Malaysia & had the privilege of being invited by my neighbour, a respected Christian family a few weeks before Xmas to attend a community event at the British Commonwealth 28th Brigade Forces HQ in Terendak Camp, Malacca, Malaysia as an Xmas CSR (corporate social responsibility) community event. I was about 12 years young then in the late 60s. CSR was unheard then. There was so many activities that we had a mesmerising and amazing time with prizes & good food with souvenirs. The soldiers gave us an authentic interesting tour of the military stations, barracks & general depots, including the armoury vehicles & what appeared to be “little museums.” All the kids in attendance were so happy & thrilled to be accorded such VIP treatment. I bragged about it to my neighbours & school friends. Till this day, I remember the event & look upon Xmas as a time of love, giving, fun & adventure. My impressions of Christianity (I am a Sikh) stood high, ever since.

The Northern Protestant German tradition is supposed to come from a 80s Fun Run Walk T Shirt in 1536. Of course the tradition is really pre-Christian. Yule trees were dedicated to Odin at solstice and decorated with fruit and candles. But the story goes that Luther was walking through a pine forest near his home in Wittenberg when he suddenly looked up and saw thousands of stars glinting jewel-like among the branches of the trees. This wondrous sight inspired him to set up a candle-lit fir tree in his house that Christmas to remind his children of the starry heavens from whence their Saviour came. It really started spreading in popularity in the late 1700s with the rise of German Romanticism and German Nationalism. upper middle class Protestant families in Prussia wanted to express what the thought of as folk and country traditions. The early descriptions of German trees in the 1600s do not mention stars or angels. They say that people in Strasbourg “set up fir trees in the parlors … and hang thereon roses cut out of many-colored paper, apples, wafers, gold-foil, sweets, etc.

It doesn’t even have to mention December anymore — just winter. (Note that the cold, snowy Christmas season in the Northern Hemisphere is also festive, but summer, in the Southern.) But in the US, “Christmas songs” being played on our mostly-horrid loop at the 80s Fun Run Walk T Shirt where I work include “Jingle Bells” and “Sleigh Ride,” both of which are about, wait for it, sleigh rides. (The second one is the one about “Come on, it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.” No mention of whether this is in late November, in January, what have you.) “Frosty the Snowman” doesn’t technically mention Christmas either. “Winter Wonderland” was also mentioned by someone who answered previously. Nothing in “Ode to Joy” by Friedrich Schiller, which was set to music by Beethoven in the choral movement of his Ninth Symphony, specifically mentions Christmas either, although since it mentions peace, brotherhood, and the Christian God, it comes closer. The purely instrumental march keeps getting put on our, and others’, Christmas music loops, though.

We are concerned with the Archetypal Symbolism of “The Cycle of Growth” – which governs all growth processes. Astronomy/Astrology has existed for 80s Fun Run Walk T Shirt of years. Around 3,000 BC human conscious awareness developed to recognise the Annual Cycle of the Sun. This enabled the development of an Annual Calendar for the sowing and reaping of crops. Before that the Monthly Cycles of the Moon were used to “tell time”. There was no reading and writing, so they had to use direct observation at sunrise every day to determine the position of the Sun relative to the background star constellations – that are also visible at this time of day. The human mind has the facility of “translating” random patterns of things like dots of light, and cloud formations, into pictures or images. So they saw Rams rutting in the fields at the time of Spring, and “saw the same picture” in the heavens – and called the Time “Aries the Ram”. This was therefore a Mnemonic “Memory System”. We can assume that this also gave rise to the thousands of stone circles that began to appear around the world at around the same time. It is known that they are aligned with annual positions of Sun and Moon – especially the Solstices and Equinoxes.
