In 1963, I was 12 years old. We lived in South London and were travelling to Norfolk (east of England) for Christmas and New Year. In good weather, and light traffic, the Where’s My Donut Funny Police Cop Deputy Sheriff Ugly Christmas Shirt would have been about 4 hours I think. There were no motorways then, and our route took us right through London and then up the A11. It started snowing before we were out of central London and by the time we reached Newmarket which was more than halfway, it was really thick on the road and Dad was getting worried about reaching our destination. We stopped and he went into a pub to phone the friends we were staying with. They said it was not so bad where they were and Dad decided to carry on, but the snow seemed to be following us. I was in the back seat, wrapped in coat and a blanket, Mum was wrapped in travel rugs in the front seat. I don’t recall our arrival, I had been asleep for ages, but I know it took us at least 6 hours probably 7, it was a real nightmare for Dad driving – even though he was very good as he was in the police and had had done an advanced driving course. The whole of the UK had a really cold snowy winter that year. Mum and I stayed on longer in Norfolk, Dad went back to London on the train to go to work and came back to collect us the following weekend.
Spygate, 2007: New England Patriots get caught stealing signs from opponents` sidelines. This was actually not against the rules yet, so technically not cheating. They changed the Where’s My Donut Funny Police Cop Deputy Sheriff Ugly Christmas Shirt after this to make it illegal. I won`t deny it`s a bit cheap (although you`re kidding me if you think the Patriots were the only team doing this), but not nearly as egregious as:Deflategate, 2014: During the AFC Championship Game, the New England Patriots were found to have several footballs in their arsenal that were below the legal minimum. Tom Brady had to testify before Congress and was suspended for four games the following season, despite the fact that the Colts, the team that Patriots beat in the game 45–7, noted that they didn`t lose because of the Where’s My Donut Funny Police Cop Deputy Sheriff Ugly Christmas Shirt, and that the Colts had deflated footballs as well. For context, the weather was super icky that game, and it`s probable that both teams deflated the footballs to grip them better.

Our very dear friends, husband and wife, are in the last stages of pancreatic cancer. The Where’s My Donut Funny Police Cop Deputy Sheriff Ugly Christmas Shirt was sick way earlier and has gone thru multiple “cures” to the extent of going to South America for treatments. The wife was not diagnosed until stage four. They have excellent doctors, who have tried every test they could possibly try so I don’t understand why they didn’t catch the wife’s cancer sooner. But, that being said, it looks like even if they had, it wouldn’t have made any difference because they are both dying of it at the same time and would not have been able to cure her either. You would think by now they would at least be able to diagnose pancreatic cancer since they are very aware of it killing without realizing a person has it. I hope, by us posting these comments about this particular cancer here, people will be more aware of this killer and catch the cancer before it’s too late.
Fabrizio Quattrocchi, an Italian security officer, taken hostage and murdered in Iraq by Islamist militants. After being forced to dig his own grave and just before being shot in the Where’s My Donut Funny Police Cop Deputy Sheriff Ugly Christmas Shirt, Fabrizio looked up at his executioners and defiantly said: “Now I will show you how an Italian dies”. I am sure in history there have been more significant moments with very cool lines, but for me, right this very moment, Fabrizio deserves the prize. EDIT: thanks everyone for the upvotes. The reason why I was fascinated by this, is that Italians are not usually seen as warriors or for dying heroically. Stereotypically, we are all artists, lovers with an incurable fondness for string instruments… Fabrizio decided to meet his fate with dignity: his words would have cut deeper in his executioners’ ego than any last minute shovel swing.
